Craig Novak is an Associate Attorney at Cruser, Mitchell, Novitz, Sanchez, Gaston, and Zimet, LLP. His primary focus is in civil litigation, specializing in the areas of automobile liability, premises liability, commercial transportation, professional liability, employment litigation, and complex insurance coverage matters.
In the past, Craig gained substantial experience in coverage, bodily injury (BI), and no-fault aspects of insurance law. He worked both in-house as an attorney for an insurance carrier and also as outside counsel at defense firms. In addition to conducting depositions and attending mandatory non-binding arbitrations, Craig has defended automobile liability claims, including claims involving trucks and other commercial vehicles. He also has experience defending premises liability claims involving personal property and commercial property owners, including claims against major retailers with large self-insured retentions.
Craig’s experience also includes Examinations Under Oath of PIP claimants and Special Investigations Unit fraud investigations. He has also attended and prepared submissions for PIP arbitrations. In addition to his insurance defense experience, Craig has previous experience representing medical providers in PIP arbitrations and plaintiffs in BI lawsuits.
Craig received a Juris Doctor from Fordham University School of Law in 2011, and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and History from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2008. He is admitted to the bar in New Jersey and New York.
