Katherine N. Kmiec is a partner at Cruser, Mitchell, Novitz, Sanchez, Gaston & Zimet, LLP. Her practice is focused on personal injury defense, premises liability, auto liability, and complex general liability matters including traumatic brain injuries and wrongful death matters.
Katherine started her legal career as a United States Navy Judge Advocate General. During her time on active duty, Katherine was assigned to Guantanamo Bay Cuba, and was also assigned as a Special Assistant United States Attorney.
After leaving active duty in 2008, Katherine began her civil practice with a large Florida insurance defense firm, representing individuals, companies and insurance companies in auto, premises, and product liability matters. Katherine has also become involved in carbon monoxide defense matters, and has previously lectured on the impact of drug toxicology results on civil litigation.
