ABOUT

Laura A. Moffett is a Senior Attorney in the firm’s Orlando office, focusing her practice on the defense of property and casualty claims, including personal injury, premises liability and general liability matters.

While Laura’s earlier practice centered on family law matters, she now focuses exclusively on insurance defense matters and brings her extensive courtroom experience to her current practice. Laura has conducted numerous bench trials and has had her cases upheld on appeal. Prior to becoming an attorney, Laura worked as both a paralegal and legal assistant on personal injury cases and medical malpractice defense.

Representative Cases

Obtained a favorable outcome for a foreign national client against the Florida Department of Revenue, child support division. The Department improperly served Ms. Moffett’s client in the United States, which severely prejudiced her client and subjected him to the jurisdiction of the Department, when in fact, he was not in the United States. As a result of Ms. Moffett’s diligent defense, the Department admitted to being complicit in the improper service of process and dismissed the action against her client.
