Representative Cases
Represented Milliken & Company, a global textile manufacturer, whose property is located adjacent to a regional airport in Augusta, Georgia, in five wrongful death actions brought by the estates of the passengers who died when the private jet they were traveling in crashed into a utility pole on its property. The first of the five plaintiffs who proceeded to trial, the Estate of Heidi McCorkle, sought $20 million in damages for the death of the 28-year-old and her two surviving minor children. After a two week trial and a few hours of deliberations, the 12-member Atlanta jury found that the sole cause of the crash was pilot error and returned a complete defense verdict.
