ABOUT
Scott Gurtman is a partner at Cruser, Mitchell, Novitz, Sanchez, Gaston & Zimet, LLP. He specializes in civil tort litigation. Prior to joining Cruser Mitchell, Scott was an associate at an insurance defense firm in New York City, where he defended clients in matters involving labor law, construction defect claims, premises liability accidents, automobile claims, gig economy liability, and insurance coverage issues. Scott has tried and arbitrated cases throughout New York on behalf of both plaintiffs and defendants.
Since Joining Cruser Mitchell, Scott has obtained defense verdicts at trials involving automobile accidents, premises liability accidents and employment discrimination cases. He has also successfully written and argued appeals in the First and Second Departments.
When not working, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and also plays ice hockey in a local men’s league.
Scott is a graduate of Arizona State University and received his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1994.
