ABOUT
Scott Gurtman is a partner at Cruser, Mitchell, Novitz, Gaston & Zimet, LLP, specializing in civil tort litigation. Since joining Cruser Mitchell, Scott’s practice has focused on high exposure construction defect and labor law claims. Scott also handles product liability claims, corporate contractual disputes, D&O, EPL and legal malpractice claims.
Scott has obtained defense verdicts at multiple trials in State and Federal Courts. He has also successfully written and argued appeals in the First and Second Departments and the Court of Appeals regarding the successful dismissal of a product liability claim. Scott serves as an instructor at the annual Claims and Litigation Management Alliance Claims College.
When not working, Scott enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, and also plays ice hockey in a local men’s league.
Scott is a graduate of Arizona State University and received his Juris Doctor degree from Brooklyn Law School in 1994.
