Dominko Rumph won summary judgment on behalf of Metro Corral Partners in the State Court of Bibb County, Georgia. The claimant, whose husband died after a choking incident at a restaurant operated by Metro Corral, sued the restaurant and its manager for negligence, negligent hiring, and retention of an unsafe employee. Rumph argued and the court agreed that the restaurant and its manager “are shielded from liability because Metro Corral had posted signs warning of choking hazards… and the manager rendered emergency aid in good faith” under Georgia’s “Good Samaritan” statutes and granted Metro Corral Partners LLC’s Motion for Summary Judgment.
