Rusty Grant obtained an award of attorney’s fees in a case where the jury verdict was less than half of what his client offered to pay prior to trial. Plaintiff alleged permanent injuries from a 2010 auto accident and sought more than $2.1 million. The jury awarded $160,000. Rusty’s client had offered $350,000 to settle the case before trial began. Because the verdict was less than 75 percent of the offer, the final payment was reduced by more than $5,000 to reflect the costs associated with the trial.
